Why Muse and Matters?

​​I joined a creative writing club called MUSE during my secondary school education.  It was run by my favourite (and quite eccentric) English and Form tutor.  His love of language and its creative power, and his poetic imagination, came across in his teaching.  It inspired me to write.  I learned to appreciate the finer details and nuances of different words and their combinations in prose and poetry, trying on occasion to take the time to sit quietly and muse.  The business of life distracts you from these contemplative moments, but in the moments I have the space to wonder, I write poetry, micro-fiction (very short stories), and descriptive pieces.
