Progressive steps made advancing, then The ticking-click, ticking-click of Heels twitching down the hollow Corridors, through the irregular beat Of doors, and away, away. A groaning tune lurches Through the air to a patient Here to hear the noisy palette. Jumbled notes! Swimming like a wave Back and forth, back and forth; A chameleon’s gait of clashing colours. Hollow wood on a pipe, straight and hard, A smashed-glass bulls-eye, do you not think of me? Hiccupping lamp, aloft as a beam Breathing in gasps of breaking shadows, Unreliable as a candle; A cylinder of hot fuzz hums, Light ahead. An incessant thinker. Stuttering blinker.
